The online gambling market in Pennsylvania is growing at pace. Currently, 18 online casinos operate in the Keystone state but many have plans to join the list.
One of the big names stepping into the arena is Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOC). Earlier this year, fantasy sports and betting company, DraftKings, acquired the sports and casino operator Golden Nugget. The duo will benefit from each other’s reputation and look forward to seeing a boost in their online gambling revenue and enjoying better marketing and optimized tech.
DraftKings’ Co-Founder and CEO, Jason Robins, expressed his excitement about the merger and sees it “as a way to penetrate deeper into the iGaming market”. The duo already operates in West Virginia and Arizona.
Although GNOC’s license application with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is still pending, the outlook is bright. The process is due to finish in the second half of 2023.
What to expect from the launch
The Keystone state is one of the most significant prospects for any online casino. And Golden Nugget will have to compete against other giants such as BetMGM, FanDuel, Caesars, and BetRivers.
Pennsylvanians hope to receive an attractive first-time deposit bonus similar to the one offered in the neighboring state of New Jersey where new players took advantage of over $1,500 worth of bonuses.
