Rudolph Gone Wild review
This snow-topped slot features free spins, re-spins, and, of course, a reindeer that’s wild.
Rudolph Gone Wild Review – A Jolly Sleigh Ride
Rudolph Gone Wild is another entry into the crowded Christmas slot market, so what does it do to stand out? Well, for starters, you’ve got the world’s most famous reindeer on the loose!
It also features a variety of festive features, plus a bonus buy. Are they enough to warrant your time? To find out, I’ve closely examined the special features, how to trigger them, and set it all out in this Rudolph Gone Wild Review.
What My Rudolph Gone Wild Review Covered
As entertaining as a crazy reindeer is, the slot itself still needs to be thoroughly checked for quality. That includes:
- Fundamental statistics of the slot
- Exploring base game and bonus features
- Checking for innovations and special features
- Reviewing the story and theme
- Finding out who made the slot
What Is Rudolph Gone Wild?
It’s a Christmas-themed slot, but with a variety of seasonal treats:
|Slot type||Christmas||Number of rows||4|
|Provider||Light & Wonder/SGD||Reels||5|
My Rudolph Gone Wild review discovered that the slot is played over a fairly standard grid with four rows and five reels. It has 50 paylines running from left to right, which means there are numerous possibilities for lining up wins on the reels.
What Kind of Base Game and Bonus Features Does Rudolph Gone Wild Have?
Rudolph Gone Wild has everything you might expect and maybe some things you don’t.
|BASE GAME FEATURES||4||Wilds, Rudolph Wilds, Snow Machine Wilds, Flying Wilds|
|BONUS BUY FEATURES||1||Free spins|
|BONUS GAMES FEATURES||1||Free spins|
Really Wild Base Game Features
I’m impressed with the number of Wilds I found while conducting my Rudolph Gone Wild review. Besides landing combinations of symbols for a win, you can expect snow, reindeer, and elves to take over. They fill the reels with Wilds that substitute for paying symbols, which increases the chances of landing a win.
There are two Wild symbols. The red one with bells on delivers a high payout when you land three or more, and it substitutes for the other paying symbols.
The blue Rudolph Wild also substitutes for other paying symbols, but it behaves differently on the reels. It moves to the left until it leaves the reels; each move left grants you a respin and keeps going until all the Rudolph Wilds are gone.
Snow Machine Wilds
The snow machine randomly plows snow onto the reels during the base game. The snow can land on up to five reels and change up to four symbols on each reel, turning them into Wilds.
Elves are flying presents in the sleigh, but they can randomly drop onto the reels and turn into Wilds at any moment during the base game.
Flexible Bonus Buy Feature
Adjusting the stake during the free spins round changes the price of the bet.
|BONUS BUY COSTS|
|Minimum-Maximum cost to buy the feature||$10 – $2,500|
|Bonus buy cost (how many times X base bet)||100x|
|Number of free spins unlocked||Random|
I like that you can buy the free spins round for as little as $10, although you’re playing with a low stake of $0.10. However, it would be good to have more control over the number of spins and stacked Wilds you get. Although you can pick them, they’re hidden until revealed.
Don’t Pull on the Reins for Hold and Win
There isn’t a Hold and Win feature.
Short But Sweet Bonus Game Features
The free spins game, triggered by the free spins scatter, is the main action for the bonus round. I was happy to see that the Rudolph Wilds apply, so you can have free spins and respins happening.
Before the game, you randomly select how many spins you’ll get, from six up to 20. You also randomly select how many Rudolph Wilds will appear in a stack. It can be anywhere from three to eight on the three central reels.
What Special Features Does Rudolph Gone Wild Have?
Adjust the game to your pace with these settings.
|Change the speed||👍|
|Mute the sound||👍|
|Adjustable bet size||👍|
You can use the controls to adapt your gameplay, such as the coin symbol for increasing or decreasing your bet. Use the lightning bolt to toggle turbo mode on and off. The autoplay button leads to options for setting a number of spins, loss limit, and single win limit.
The Story Behind Rudolph Gone Wild’s Theme
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is the central character in this slot. He stands by the reels looking grumpy, but the snow, Christmas train, gingerbread, and lights get everyone else in the right mood.
Graphics With a Winter Glow
The bright, cartoon-like graphics are one of the best things about this slot, as they add to the festive fun.
Busy Theme, Fun Sound Effects
The soundtrack is too busy, which I found distracting. The occasional sound of bells and elves is quite cheery, though.
Who Made Rudolph Gone Wild?
The slot is by Light & Wonder, although you might see the studio’s original name, Scientific Gaming Digital.
Slots By Light & Wonder We Think You Would Like
- Stargate Megaways

Is Rudolph Gone Wild Crazy Enough To Work?
Overall, it is an entertaining Christmas slot, although it feels a bit more ‘Grumpy Rudolph’ than ‘Wild Rudolph’. If you like Wilds and random features in the base game, it’s certainly a contender.
In terms of the bonus buy feature, the amount of spins and Wilds you get is a bit too random for my liking. There are definitely other titles that give you more control and options with regard to a bonus buy.
What’s the volatility of Rudolph Gone Wild?
It’s a medium to high volatility slot.
Does Rudolph Gone Wild have a jackpot?
No, it doesn’t have a jackpot, but there’s a maximum win of 5,000x your stake.
How do I trigger the free spins?
You can use the bonus buy feature to access free spins. Otherwise, landing three scatters will launch the round.
What are the minimum and maximum bets?
The minimum bet is $0.10, and the maximum is $25.
What’s the highest-paying symbol in Rudolph Gone Wild?
The icon with the highest value is the sleigh.
How do I play Rudolph Gone Wild?
Launch the game, select your bet amount, and then spin the reels. If you land three or more matching symbols on a payline, you’ve won.
